Concealed carry….my ass!
Do you know how hard it is for a woman to wear a concealed handgun?
Oh sure…I could shove a Walther P22 into my pocket, but that’s not going to do me any good when someone attacks me.
I shoot someone with a .22 and all that’s going to do is piss them off!
I have a wonderful gun.
A Walther PK380.
It’s basically a short 9mm.
It is small and yet will still stop someone, should I need to use it.
But…..I haven’t come across a method for concealed carry that doesn’t involve winter clothing.
I bought a Fobus paddle holster on the recommendation of a co-worker.
Yeah…..not so much.
Silly me. My co-worker is a 6’3″ male that weighs 250 pounds.
OF COURSE he doesn’t have trouble concealing his gun under his giant t-shirts.
Me? Not so much.
And this is even after tons of research and new shirts.
Drop waist shirts to be exact. Because they give volume to my midsection w/o making me look like the broad side of a barn.
But the Fobus holster “prints” terribly. Meaning…it is clearly outlined and therefore no longer “concealed”.
It turns out…I have CURVES (aka hips) and that gun sits right on my hip…which is already wide. Add a gun and now you have even *more* bulk to my hips. *snort*
GAH!!
What’s a girl to do?
Inner pants holster? Yeah…. #1 I’d have to buy my pants 1 size bigger and #2 — forget that…I’m big enough looking as it is!!
Belly band — ummmm…those only work on someone who doesn’t have a belly and see #1 and #2 above
Thigh holster — I don’t wear dresses
Ankle holster — does me no good when wearing shorts!
Purse — how many times have you tried to find something in your purse only to think it’s missing? (Granted a gun is a lot bigger than a tube of chapstick) but also, you leave your purse in the grocery cart or put it on the floor at dinner….you are *never* supposed to leave a gun unattended! Plus, a mugger is looking to rip off your purse, so not only did you just give them your money but your gun too!
Pocket holster — have you ever SEEN the size of women’s pants pockets? Enough room for a credit card and that stupid tube of chapstick…not for a gun.
Shoulder holster — Yeah, in the winter maybe, but not in the heat of summer where shorts and a t-shirt are a must
The only thing I’ve seen that *might* have a possibility is this:
At $75 ..that’s an expensive purchase to make w/o knowing if it will be comfortable and work for me. …sigh…
It seems like a reasonable place to hide a gun, at least to me. Let’s face it, I have enough cleavage that a gun should be well hidden. *hee..hee..*
So what’s a girl to do?
There have been multiple robberies lately. Last night was one at the Subway Mr. AP and I used to walk to!!
It isn’t safe for a person to go unarmed.
But it isn’t legal for a person to open carry.
And I can’t find anything to work for concealed carry.
Rock…meet hard place.

Have you seen this?

pink — thanks. I’ve actually seen this but you’ll notice that she is carrying a very small gun. My Walther is bigger and would drag down the center of my bra, plus the handle wouldn’t fit well into my boobage.
For a .22 it is a great idea (not a fan of the lifting of the shirt but hey..whatever works).
